Picross Quest Walkthrough
Picross Quest is a puzzle game based on nonograms. This brain game features upbeat music, simple controls, and seventy-five levels.
Picross Quest features fifteen easy levels and four sets of normal levels with fifteen puzzles each. If this is your first time playing this brain game, then I advise you to play the easy levels first to get a feel for the rules. Once you have mastered these levels, then you can move on to the more difficult sets of puzzles. You can play puzzles in any order, but your progress is automatically saved so puzzles that you have already completed will be marked as such.
Picross Quest follows the rules of Picross (also known as nonograms). Numbers adjacent to each row or column on the grid indicate the number of colored squares in that row or column. To make things easier and allow the usage of the process of elimination, it is best to color in large-numbered rows or columns first, then work your way down. Try to avoid incorrectly marking squares on the grid since doing so will invoke a one minute penalty. Each puzzle has a sixty minute limit in this brain game, so if you exceed the limit, you will lose! This is actually ample time, and you should not have any problem unless you invoke time penalties often, so think before you click!
Picross Quest exercises players' decision-making abilities. Using the information provided, you must choose the best course of action (in the case of this brain game, this means coloring or marking the correct squares on the grid). Perception is also helpful since it will help you to identify and complete the image in each puzzle, but it is not a necessary skill. Remember that you can mute the music by clicking the icon in the upper-right corner if it is too distracting to your brain's functioning.
With seventy-five puzzles to complete, Picross Quest is sure to keep fans of puzzle games occupied for quite some time. Take on this brain game piecemeal for a bit of stimulation on breaks, or try to complete all of the puzzles in one sitting for a real mental workout (only recommended if you have the day off to complete the game)!
