Minesweeper Walkthrough
Minesweeper is a popular puzzle game that has been released for various platforms including mobile phones, Windows operating systems, and Linux operating systems. This Flash version of Minesweeper retains the same gameplay of the original and three difficulty levels.
This particular version of Minesweeper is played on a sixteen-by-thirty grid. There are three difficulty levels: easy with forty mines, medium with seventy mines, and tough with one hundred mines. There is no handicap or any perks given to the player based on difficulty level. If you have never played Minesweeper, then I advise you to play on the easy difficulty level. If you have mastered another version of Minesweeper, then it is OK to play on the higher difficulty levels since this brain game does not differ much from the original.
This version of Minesweeper has a somewhat different control scheme than the typical controls used in versions for desktop operating systems. Left-clicking opens squares. Open squares will have a number indicating the number of mines in adjacent squares. Open squares that do not have mines adjacent to them will be blank. If you click on a square with a mine inside of it, you will lose them game. Since right-clicking opens the context menu in Flash, you must press the spacebar to flag squares rather than right-clicking them.
Minesweeper primarily tests the cognitive ability of decision making. Open squares display the number of adjacent bombs. When enough nearby squares are open, you can use the information provided to determine the location of mines and flag them. Trial-and-error and probability may also be useful in this brain game, especially in the beginning when no squares are open and you have no information that may be used to locate bombs.
This Flash version of Minesweeper is pretty standard, but it useful in situations where you may not have access to another version of the game (for example, at work or at school where an administrator may have blocked Minesweeper at your terminal). Tread softly in this explosive brain game!
