Blockgineer Walkthrough
Blockgineer is a physics game that tests players' resourcefulness. This puzzle game features simple graphics, an easy-to-use control scheme, a clean interface, automatic saving, and thirty-two levels.
The objective of Blockgineer is to get each colored ball to its like-colored goal. In order to accomplish this goal, you will have to place objects on the stage by using your mouse. You are given a limited number of build points in this brain game, so select which items you wish to place wisely based on the price of each. There is no set solution that you must use as long as you get the balls to the appropriate goals. The fewer points that you use, however, the more stars you will earn for the level.
In Blockgineer, you will have to utilize four different tools. These tools are located in the lower part of the screen and from left to right are: blocks (squares), wedges (triangles), boost arrows, and reversible boost arrows. Blocks are useful for bridging gaps and stopping balls from rolling. Wedges are good to use as inclines. Boost arrows project a force upon balls that pass through them, while reversible boost arrows are similar but reverse direction each time a ball passes through. To select a tool in this puzzle game, click on its icon. Click on unoccupied areas of the stage to place the item if you have enough build points remaining. To remove items, click the red 'X' in the toolbar then click on the items that you wish to remove. Removing objects reimburses the build points spent on placing the object. You may only remove items that you have placed yourself in this brain game.
Blockgineer tests players' abilities to think out solutions. Resourcefulness is also tested since the number of pieces that players can place is limited by the number of build points allotted in each level. Players must have the ability to plan ahead in order to to place objects in a path that will cause the balls to reach their goals. Finally, this brain game can test the heuristic of trail-and-error if players make piecemeal modifications after running the level to see how things work.
Blockgineer is a puzzle game that is challenging, but not too difficult. If you enjoy testing your cognitive abilities with casual brain games, then you should give Blockgineer a try!
